DAVID A. BAXENDALE: MANAGING DIRECTOR
David Baxendale joined Tucker Capital in 1985 following ten years at boutique investment banking firms in New York; including Ardshiel Associates and Tower Hall. During his tenure at Tucker, David has managed numerous acquisitions and divestitures that have included several comprehensive acquisition programs, and has provided financial and strategic advice for several major clients. David built the firm’s practice in advising publishing companies and led the effort to create one of the largest supplemental education publishers in the U.S. through more than a dozen acquisitions. He also has substantial operating and management experience with client companies having served on a number of operating boards and executive committees. Early in his career, David was Vice President of Strategic Planning for Johnson & Johnson and introduced the Strategic Planning approach that was ultimately adopted by J & J’s operating companies. David was instrumental in founding the Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation - the venture capital arm of Johnson & Johnson. He graduated with high honors in Economics from Harvard and holds an MBA in finance from Harvard Business School. David, who has a keen interest in the life and music of Johann Sebastian Bach, loves to cook, hike and ski and enjoys his children and grandchildren and the family dog, George.
